Motion Graphics

Eveo Mini Reel – 03.10-06.10

This is a mini reel of some of the work I did freelancing @ Eveo. There is an even mixture of motion graphics and compositing work here.  Mmmmmm – pharma goodness!

What Matters

This is a MoGraph 2 exercise based on a promotional flyer that I did. Indeed – what matters?

Gear Up

Got inspiration from a BeHance posting by a person named Kalle that was doing a typography study. The phrase struck a nerve with me and so I made it my own and made this.

Hexameta Animated Logo

So just some quick fun with Mograph2 and my logo. To stem the inevitable question – I found the term “Hexameta” in the ingredient list on the back of a box of crackers (yeah I’m a label reader ;) . It was short for Hexameta-phosphate. It’s a preservative or something but the lil occultist in me at the time interpreted the first part as “Magic-Everywhere”. I still hold true to that philosophy today. Just look and you’ll find something cool…Enjoy!

’10 Reel

Here it is folks. The very best of my best. I’m stoked.

Skinny Fat Animatic

So this is what I’ve been working on as of late – title sequence for a movie that a buddy of mine is directing. In short the film is a comedy about a duo of gay men who use eating dissorders to lose weight. Enjoy!

Fire Safety

So I’m finally getting around to posting the Fire Safety project by popular request. You know I think one of the biggest challenges I face creatively is believing in myself and likewise my work. Lou Holtz said something to the effect of if you don’t even believe in yourself then why should someone else. Having said that I’m delighted to show this lil project and enjoyed making it. I’ve come a long way since I’ve made it too. Thanks to Harry and Francisco for their help. Also I wish I had kept some of the content for breakdowns. Especially the production video of Harry, which was shot on a consumer grade (i.e. crappy) DV Camera…Anyways enjoy!

Dandylion

So I busted out this project after reading a tutorial from Adam Swaab. This guy really knows his TP and really opened some doors for me regarding my thought process to it. So I’d like to thank him for the inspiration and knowledge! I was gonna add some titles to this but nothing really compelling came to mind that I felt warranted investing time too. It’s more of a TP, dynamics and rendering/aesthetics exercise. This peice is also more of a 3D Design piece as opposed to Motion Graphics – or is it…? Anyways enjoy!

Walk

Again – like SxSW this was made in the days of copious drive and infrequent repose. Again not really a motion graphics piece but what the hell. When in doubt cut to the beat!

North X Northwest

I made this back in the good ol’ days when I had too much drive and not enough patience. I love cutting music videos. Need to get around to doing more of it too ;) Not really motion graphics per se but fun none the less.

Fried Twinkies Are From Heaven

It’s true. The glory be to the fried twinkie. Children laugh and play. The angles sing. Peace fly on the backs of doves wings as the coaster free falls with glee. And everything is coated with a shiny wax of sugar. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Anyways bullshit aside ;) I gotta give my self some critque by pointing out that this proj is really similar to GDNB. Has the same feel and overall timing towards the end. I think the end blossom is a lil overwrought as well – just a lil. I really gotta kick out of the hot oil and sugar tho – they’re my favs ;)

A Simple Case of Ego Fear

I have no idea what the hell this piece means. But lets face it – who doesn’t get stoked over disemboweld ueteruses that are vomiting albino boas and crowe’s feathers. Makes me all warm and fuzzy!

The Jay Beverly Project

Some intro and menu animations for a local commercial director.

Mash Austin

A intro animation for a fixed gear bike DVD. “…with no brakes!”

Kyle

I always liked the film Waking Life. It’s philosophical content was portrayed at times whimsical, scary and poignantly beautiful. All rendered with lush, liquid vectors. Lovely.

Gothic Dolphins – Not Bombs

A literal interpretation of a classic tag on the Oakland BART line. Indeed Gothic Dolphins are far better (and also gooder) than bombs. BARTers – this one’s for you!
